Wow guys! It’s been a long time. The last time I wrote I was deep into fitness and wrapping up my cheerleading career. Since then, I have spent a lot of time working on my relationship with myself and finding a healthy balance with life in general. However, I will save all of that for another blog post! The point of this is I AM BACK, and finally in a good place in my life to put writing back on my list of priorities. Why, because it makes me happy. Simple as that. Fast forward to now…I AM MARRIED!!! I wanted to dedicate my first blog post back to all my future brides and fairy tale dreamers. Here is my advice based off of what I learned through my process of planning my perfect wedding. If I can do it during a pandemic…my future brides can do anything.

1. Start early….you will never regret planning too soon, only too late.

2. Choose your bridal party wisely. Pick people who are about you having your perfect day, people that will be there for the right reasons.

3. If you can, do an all-inclusive venue. The amount of stress it saved me was unreal!

4. Don’t compare your wedding to every wedding you have ever been to or seen on Instagram. Your wedding is meant to represent the love between you and your future husband…not to be a grand party for hundreds of people.

5. This is the only time you can be selfish so take advantage of that. This is not the time to people please. However, you can do this without being a bridezilla.

6. Intimate weddings are the way to go. Mine was small, especially because it was during a pandemic, but everyone there was there for Matt and I and I would not have wanted it any other way.

7. Do a bridal party day before your wedding. It is important to get that time with your girls.

8. Do something in your ceremony that you and your future hubby will never forget. Matt and I read a poem, and it will forever be something special between us.

9. Have a day after your wedding to decompress before your honeymoon…and most importantly GO ON A HONEYMOON! You will be so exhausted and deserve a break after planning and stressing.

10. Do not let anyone sway you or make you feel like your vision for your perfect day is silly or unrealistic. You get this one time. Make it everything YOU want.

This is just a little advice from yours truly. I could literally write a million blog posts about my wedding, but I figured I would start with a few tips. To all my girls praying to find their happy ending, I will leave you with this. Four years ago, I was heartbroken and going out all the time to feel a void I never thought could be filled. I wasn’t sure I would ever find my “Cinderella Story”. Then one night Matt walked into my Halloween party. The rest is history. Be patient and never stop believing. Y0u can now call me Mrs. Freeman.

XOXO, Jazz
